When possible, we have special guests attending the program to speak about their occupation or other interesting and important topics.
ACT Emergency Services stopped by a few times to demonstrate the equipment they use and to chat with the kids about fire safety in general. They also helped us conduct our mandatory fire evacuation.
We have had representatives from the Australia Airforce officer speak about their career in the defence services and the Australia Army has sent officers to discuss the variety of occupations in the services such as coaching the ADFA AFL team.
Youth mental health services organisation Headspace is a regular at our program discussing important issues such as gaming addiction, bullying and other toxic online behaviours.
The education sessions, combined with our two daily physical activity sessions, help break up the day. They are informative but best of all, they are fun.
